Despite my father's best efforts, I know nothing about cars. I had some pretty grand plans of marrying someone who knew something about car maintenance but then I found this guy who was a caring, funny, Christian family man and I decided that taking the car in for an oil change instead of doing it ourselves wouldn't really be the end of the world. So imagine my delight when I just took the Motor Oil Matters quiz and scored an 85.71%. My dad is gonna be so proud! Look daddy, your little girl is all grown up and passing car quizzes! Who knew? So what if the answers were fairly obvious. Am I right?
Anyway. I was pretty excited when MyBlogSpark offered me a 35 dollar gift card to Jiffy Lube for my next oil change and a gift card to bestow upon one of my readers. In a very small way it makes me want to be all like, "Blam! All that excess reading and writing and daydreaming instead of learning about the difference between a radiator and a carburetor (for the record I actually do know what a radiator is and, even, where it is located) is finally paying off." Except that, really, 70 dollars doesn't even begin to touch the amount of money I've spent having things on my car fixed. So, really, I probably should have listened a little better to Car Maintenance 101 as taught by my dad. But I digress...
The important thing is...YOU! A 35 dollar gift card to Jiffy Lube!
So here's what I want you to do. Go to the Motor Oil Matters website and have a look around. Then take the quiz. Come back here and leave a comment telling me your score and which question/answer you found the most interesting.

I took the quiz and I am sad to say that I got a 42.86%. But I am going to post this because every little cent helps and if I have a chance to get $35 towards an oil change while being embarrassed, so be it.
ReplyDeleteI think the question I found most interesting was the one about the corrosion. The answers were silly. Engines generate acids which cause the change of seasons or heartburn? That's funny. I know that's not exactly what you meant by most interesting, but that's what came to mind.

You might think, being married to an auto teacher and all, that I would have done better than 71%. It's our little secret, right? The questions were as interesting as I would expect them to be, not being interested in car stuff...:)
ReplyDeleteI got 60/70 right! Yay for me being ok at the quiz!
ReplyDeleteI did find the most interesting question to be the one I got wrong... What is the SAE? I had no clue. Haha!
I made 100%!!! No kidding, and I couldn't find the dip stick on my minivan if I tried! LOL I liked the first question about how old cars are on average. We have just beat the average on my husband's X-terra. We've got a ways to go on the minivan. We used to live in a very affluent area and now we (way) don't. You can tell a lot by the car population!
ReplyDelete85.71%....not too bad! I've never heard of the SAE--thanks for teaching me something new :)
ReplyDelete57.14 Fail.
ReplyDelete100%... though I was definitely just guessing on a few. The most interesting one for me was the average price of a new car.
ReplyDeleteso, i got 100% on the quiz and have absolutely no idea how i accomplished that. most interesting question? um...probably the VII one.
ReplyDeleteI got an 87.5%...I missed the last question! i was sooo on a roll!! I thought that was the most interesting, by the way! thanks for the giveaway chance :)
ReplyDeleteI got a 100 I guess it paid to be raised on a farm with 3 brothers..
ReplyDeleteI got 70 points :)
ReplyDelete100% - BLAM! Mini wave in celebration of me! My most intersting question was the one that tried to trick me about fuel economy. I had to sit here and be all, "Wait, if the fuel economy is being lowered, that means worse fuel economy so the answer has to be something that makes your MPG worse so..."
ReplyDelete100! woohoo! i think we all got different questions, because i didn't see anything about fuel economy, but i did get an interesting question about oil recycling. here's to a free oil change!
ReplyDeleteI got 60/70. Missed the last one. Oh-well. I can't be right all the time even though I think I am. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteI took the quiz and got 85.71% I only missed the last one. :) Looks like I listen when my husband talks after all. I also posted it on my blog but I don't get much traffic over there. Good luck to everyone.
ReplyDeleteOh i forgot to mention my favorite question. It was question #2 the one about acid. I don't think the question was as amuzing as the answer choices.
